The Outdoor Solution segments at Jarden Corporation had a 4 percent increase in revenues to $614.2 million. The operating margin rose by 0.3 percentage points to 9.2 percent, and earnings rose by 7.5 percent to $39.9 million. Among the group's properties, The Coleman Company gained market share and the divison saw growth at Pure Fishing and healthy sales at Rawlings. The quarter ended March 31 saw an adverse impact of $9 million for Jarden related to the divestiture of JT Sports and the licensing out of the Adio brand. The whole company had a 4 percent revenue increase to $1.19 billion. It recorded a net loss of $59 million, compared with net income of $8.9 million a year ago. Jarden's management said the overall company, with its diverse product holdings, remains committed to generating at least 30 percent of its annual sales from items launched within the last three years. In the outdoor segment, that includes the Coleman Anniversary Road Trip Grill. Jarden wants 2010 to be the year it returns to a historic 3-5 percent organic growth rate among all of its businesses.
