Thule Group has agreed to sell its entire trailer business, which is worth $90 million a year, to Accent Equity 2012, an investment fund, with company management as co-investors. As a result of the transaction a new entity, Brenderup Group, is being created, incorporating operations in the Nordic market and around Europe. The move is part of Thule's renewed focus on outdoor and sport products, such as its roof-top and rear-of-vehicle cargo systems for bikes, boats and other gear. In January, Thule launched Active with Kids, a new line of child carriers, including bike seats, strollers and joggers. Thule also has a line of backpacks and luggage and owns Case Logic, the popular case provider for smartphones, tablet and other personal devices. Brenderup, the largest brand in the newly-created entity, makes trailers for the home and garden, professional, boat and cargo rental markets. The portfolio of divested brands also includes Fogelsta, Ellebi, Easyline and Thule Rental. Thule Group, based in Sweden, has more than 45 production facilities and sales offices worldwide. The group generated sales of SEK5.1 billion (€568.92m-$784.55m) in 2013.
