A total of 1,265 trade visitors attended the British Outdoor Trade Show at Stoneleigh Park, down 11 percent from one year ago, but exhibitors reportedly praised the quality of the visitors. The number of exhibitors reached a record of 135. The organizers are optimistic about next year's OTS, which will run for one more extra day, taking place at the same time as another event, The Tent Show, on Sept. 10-13. At Stoneleigh Park, OTS put out its 2011 Novel Awards. The awards were won by six companies in different categories: Whitby & Co (Geigerrig, accessories), Vaude (backpacks), KoziKids (apparel), Jetboil (camping equipment), Tecnica (footwear) and Snugpak (sleeping bags).
