After a long illness, Odd Roar Lofterød, the son of Odlo's founder, Odd Lofterød, passed away in Norway, his home country. He was 65 years old. Lofterød took over Odlo from his father in 1979 and built up the international business of the brand, specialized in base layers, with particular flair for innovation. Under his tenure, the company's international head office was moved from Norway to Switzerland. Lofterød was one of the members of Odlo's supervisory board, and a small shareholder.
