An official of Nielsen Holdings said he could not confirm reports that the group has mandated Credit Suisse to find potential buyers for its trade show business, which includes major American trade shows such as Outdoor Retailer, Interbike and the Health + Fitness Business Expo. With 28 fairs in its portfolio, Nielsen is said to be the largest operator of trade shows in the U.S. Nielsen Expositions generated operating income of $72 million on revenues of $182 million in 2012, but this business was relatively marginal for the company. As a group, Nielsen made a net profit of $273 million on sales of $5.6 billion.
