In April 2024, Fjällräven Polar will offer 20 people from all over the world the chance to experience a 300 km expedition through the Arctic tundra of Scandinavia. For five days, the adventurers will steer their dog sleds through the vast icy landscapes, immersing themselves in a world completely different from their own.
In line with Fjällräven’s mission to inspire people to spend more time in nature, Fjällräven is paving the way for a winter outdoor adventure for the 19th time – for anyone who longs for untamed wilderness. This expedition proves that anyone with the right equipment and knowledge can enjoy the Arctic outdoors – no matter how much outdoor experience he or she has.
The author of this article, Editor-in-Chief Wolfgang Greiner, was lucky enough to be present at one of the first Fjällräven Polar experiences in 2006. Even though he did not join the full Polar expedition as a participant, it was a powerful experience: the dogs, the tundra, the snow, the cold, the land, the people… A true adventure that you will not forget for the rest of your life. Application for Fjällräven Polar 2024
Applications for the Fjällräven Polar 2024 expedition start on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, during the global kick-off event where applicants will learn all about the Fjällräven Polar 2024 expedition, how to apply, what life is like north of the Arctic Circle and how Fjällräven Polar has impacted the lives of expedition alumni. Details about the application process will be shared during the global launch event and will also be available on the Fjällräven Experience platform from the start of registration. The deadline for applications is Nov. 19, 2023, and the winners of a starting place will be announced on Dec. 11, 2023. The expedition will take place on April 2-8, 2024.
More information about Fjällräven Polar 2024 will be available on fjallraven.com starting Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. However, you can start your journey to join the expedition today by pre-registering for the global launch event, which will take place on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at 16:00 CET. At this event, you will get insights into expedition life above the Arctic Circle, as well as all the information you need to apply and become a member of the Fjällräven Polar 2024 team. The global kick-off event is not a mandatory part of the application process, but it will give you a head start.
