Gear Coop and Adidas Outdoor are preparing “United for Nepal,” an event to be held at Gear Coop in Cosa Mesa on June 25, with proceeds from ticket sales going directly toward earthquake relief efforts. The two companies are hoping to attract outdoor enthusiasts with the participation of the climber Kevin Jorgeson, who teamed up with Tommy Caldwell on the first free ascent of the Dawn Wall in Yosemite National Park in January. This is described by the organizers as arguably the blankest big wall climb in the world. Jorgeson, who is sponsored by Adidas Outdoor, will hold an exclusive talk and slide show on the ascent. Other outdoor brands have donated products for a live auction and raffle.
