Hi-Tec Sports Canada was a sponsor of the Trekking for Rhinos event on Sept. 19, at the Toronto Zoo, which included an unusual behind-the-scenes experience with the zoo's rhinos. Trekkers were encouraged to collect pledges, and Hi-Tec offered a pair of its Altitude V hiking boots to the top three pledge earners. Proceeds from the event will support rhino conservation and enrichment at the Toronto zoo. Hi-Tec is committed to rhino protection and has a swing tag with the “Save the Rhino” message on all of its shoes. The company supports the Black Mamba Rhino Protection Unit in South Africa, a unit of female rangers dedicated to protecting wildlife from poaching and educating the local community on the importance of anti-poaching.
