Performance footwear brand Hoka One One and the Outbound Collective, a website and app designed to help travelers find local adventures, tours and accommodations around the globe, have joined forces to launch a series of films that enhance and expand the stories of underrepresented athletes and leaders within the outdoor community, so as to inspire people to go outdoors. Hoka One One will be the exclusive presentation partner of the 2020/21 #EveryoneOutside film and content series. The partnership also includes support for the Writers Residency for Underrepresented Storytellers program, as well as a fully integrated campaign that includes product integration, editorial collaboration and a range of community involvement projects.
The first film, titled Resilience and produced in collaboration with Wondercamp, was released earlier this week and highlights Outdoor Outreach’s mission to connect youth with the transformative power of nature. You can watch the movie below. Hoka One One and Outbound Collective will host a virtual panel discussion on the 11-minute film with Lesford Duncan, senior director of programs at Outdoor Outreach, and others on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 2:00 am CET.
The second film in the series will feature Jahmicah Dawes, the founder of SlimPickins Outfitters, the first Black-owned outdoor equipment store in the U.S. The targeted release date is January 2021.
Previous #EveryoneOutside films have been selected to participate in prestigious film festivals, including MountainFilm, the 5Point Adventure Film Festival and the Banff Film Festival.
