Outdoor Retailer (OR), the largest U.S. trade show for the outdoor industry, is launching Outdoor Retailer Winter Online, a “digital marketplace and enhanced online experience” designed to bring the winter sports and outdoor communities together online to network, learn and discover what’s new in the industry. As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, OR Winter Online will completely replace the physical exhibition originally planned for Jan. 27-29, 2021, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
OR gained experience with digital shows last summer when the OR Summer Market was taken online, also due to Covid-19. One of the most important developments since summer will be the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI). During the event, AI will infer a user’s likes and dislikes, suggest matches and create a customized experience for each user to find products, brands, retailers and education that best fit their needs. The digital event also provides streamlined communication between brands, buyers and media, including live video conferencing and live one-on-one interviews, real-time data-driven lead generation, personalized dashboards and networking opportunities, and a comprehensive schedule of training sessions with industry leaders, experts and visionaries.
Outdoor Retailer will work alongside Snowsports Industries America (SIA), Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), and other industry organizations to develop training programs and provide additional business tools. Key events will continue to be part of the online program, including the third annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards.
