Performance Days, the specialty show of fibers and fabrics held in Munich twice a year, is preparing for its 11th edition on Nov. 19-21. At 104, the number of exhibitors has grown by 14 percent compared to last year and the organizers have opened a fifth hall at Munich's MTC exhibition center, after the needed net exhibiting space needed grew by 20 percent to 1,960 square meters. The companies come from 22 countries which means a geographic increase of one third. Precisely half of the companies come from Europe and the Americas and the other 50 percent from the Asia-Pacific region, including New Zealand, Taiwan, China, Japan and North Korea. New exhibiting companies are, among others, BeBe Knit ofTaiwan, Bemis and Climashield, from the United States, Designer Textiles International of New Zealand, the Fair Wear Foundation based in the Netherlands, South Korea's Silkytex, LTP Garment of Lithuania, and the Japanese company NFK Echomark. The special focus of the Performance Days will be sustainability and eco-friendly garments and parts. 42 percent of all exhibitors have a Bluesign-certified offer and 65 percent say that they have sustainable products in their collections. These exhibitors will be highlighted in the show catalogue.
