Sept. 11 has been picked as the Outdoor Day as part of the European Week of Sport organized by the European Commission. In the run-up to the event, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) is preparing a consumer campaign to stimulate outdoor participation, which was launched to the industry yesterday. With strong support from EOG members, it will unfold mostly on social media, with the #itsgreatoutthere hashtag. Product prizes worth over €20,000 have already been committed to the campaign, starting from July 27, through social media competitions and a dedicated online platform. It will be integrated with the European Commission's wider #BeActive campaign. The EOG has long been involved in the European Week of Sport through the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (Fesi) and it became an official partner of the event last month. More details on the entire program and Fesi's involvement in the upcoming issue of SGI Europe.
