Transa, the large Swiss specialty retailer, is moving into the footwear business. The chain is about to open its first shop dedicated to shoes only at Zollstrasse in the heart of Zurich. This location used to be the home of Transa’s outlet shop, which will move to Weinbergstrasse, equally close to the city’s main station. The new shoe store offers everything from flip-flops for urban outdoor purposes to high-end mountaineering boots. The latter offer is new to Transa, which teamed up with La Sportiva: The Italians are the selected partner for higher-end technical footwear at the launch of the shoe shop. The retailer now counts four doors close to the main station: Next to the shoe and the outlet shops, it runs one regular outdoor and one bicycle store in downtown Zurich.
