Vaude expects its sales to increase by about 10 percent in 2013 as compared to last year. In 2012, its sales increased by 9.4 percent, company officials say, without mentioning actual figures Apparel accounts for 52 percent of Vaude's total sales, while backpacks account for 33 percent. Sales in the company's domestic German market are expected to account for 66 percent of the total tunrover. Vaude has currently a total of 578 temporary sales areas and 119 shop-in-shops installed in outdoor stores worldwide, up sharply from 392 temporary sales areas and 68 shop-in-shops on a global level in 2012. Next month, Vaude will open a franchised store in Bremen. Two additional franchised stores will be opened in Germany in the autumn, adding up to a total of 10 franchised stores in Germany by 2013. Vaude has increased the amount of GreenShape certified products from 38 percent for its summer 2013 collection to 42 percent for its summer 2014 collection. The Green Shpa will only be applied to products made of at least 90 percent organic cotton, recycled material or the wood fiber Tencel; dyed with the eco-friendly coloration procedure Vaude eColor; or complying with Bluesign, the strictest environmental standard for textiles worldwide.
