Vaude’s chief executive, Antje von Dewitz, has been honored with a Vanity Fair Changing Your Mind Award 2020. Von Dewitz was presented with the award on Feb. 6, during a ceremony at the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel in London, in the presence of 150 guests from the tourism and travel industry and the world of the media.
The Vanity Fair Changing Your Mind Awards recognize every year five pioneers from around the world who have broken new ground to bring about positive change. The jury emphasized Vaude’s commitment to raise awareness of environmental concerns by encouraging people to think about eco-friendly manufacturing prior to their purchases. The jury also praised Vaude for creating its own Green Shape sustainability label and its innovative concepts to extend the lifespan of its products.
In addition to Antje von Dewitz, four other winners were recognized for environmental and sustainable tourism projects in Denmark, Bolivia, India, and Myanmar. The awards were presented by the editorial staff of Vanity Fair, with the support of Leica and Anantara.
