Vibram has come up with new products for mountain bikers. The MTBike sole is made of Vibram’s XSTrek material to provide grip, and the tread has deep grooves to aid performance. Lateral slugs provide even better traction and stability and flexion lines for comfort. The new soles are compatible with Shimano’s SPD automatic bindings. Another new sole, the Freeride, was developed exclusively for Shimano, and has the IdroGrip. It was used in Shimano’s AM40 Enduro, with reinforced lacing. Vibram has also introduced the X-Cross, which can also be used for trekking. Made from MultiTrek, it has good grip and helps clear out mud. And the Northwave Mission shoe for freeriders has special uppers designed for off-road riders, offering protection and a snug fit.
