Vibram, the Italian manufacturer of performance soles, has reached sales of $100 million in 2008, up compared with the previous year. Vibram’s licensees in the U.S. and Brazil added an additional $50 million to the brand’s worldwide income. Half of the global sales came from sports and outdoor, 25 percent from professional footwear such as work, safety and rescue, 15 percent from lifestyle-oriented footwear, and 10 percent from resoling.
