After Copenhagen-based investor Henrik Lyngbye Pedersen and his company, Bregnerød Investeringsselskab Aps, increased their stake in Canadian road cycling and triathlon outfitter Argon 18 to a strategic (albeit undisclosed) majority stake in early 2019, ties to Denmark have now been further strengthened: On Jan. 26, the Montréal, Québec-based premium bike brand announced the establishment of a new European headquarters in Lynge, Denmark.
To this end, the company has combined its activities with Argon 18’s previous exclusive distributor for Scandinavia, United Cycling, to create Argon 18 Europe. To better serve the European market, a centralized sales, warehouse and customer service center has been established in Lynge, 30 kilometers northwest of Copenhagen. The establishment of Argon 18 Europe allows the company to integrate operational systems (including purchasing and distribution), creating valuable efficiencies on a global scale. Currently, Argon 18’s bicycles are sold in more than 80 countries worldwide. Argon 18’s headquarters remain in Montréal, where the company was founded in 1989.
