In June, the German mountain sports retailer Bergzeit called on the trail community to run meters of altitude for a tree donation with the Trails for Trees Challenge. For every Mont Blanc climbed, the highest mountain in the Alps with 4,810 meters of altitude, Bergzeit planted a tree. By June 30, almost 700 trail runners had taken part in the campaign. The result: With 1,443,000 meters of altitude run, they were able to collect a total of 300 trees within three weeks.
