Columbia Sportswear has been named the official outerwear provider for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team through the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The athletes will show off Columbia's Omni-Heat technology, wearing the brand's outerwear, base layers and hats, and contribute ideas toward the research and development of new products. Some network broadcasters will also wear Columbia jackets during broadcasts. The newly outfitted skiers start their season in Europe in early December. The partnership also means Columbia will be part of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's consumer merchandising program, which allows fans the chance to wear the same gear their favorite athletes do.
