Hoka One One, part of Deckers Brands, has announced the launch of its new “Evo Time to Fly” elite team, an international squad that includes world-class trail and road runners, track athletes and triathletes. The new group of global ambassadors will work closely with the brand's product development team as well as the Evo Lab, the brand's incubator, to help in the development and testing of new running and racing footwear. The new team includes Ludovic Pommeret from France, who won the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in 2016; Magdalena Boulet, the marathoner who represented the U.S. at the 2008 Olympics; Leo Manzano, also from the U.S., who won the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in the 1,500-meter run; Charlotte Morel from France, a national champion triathlete; Sage Canaday, a champion ultrarunner from the U.S.; Heather Jackson, also from the U.S., a triathlete and third-place finisher at the 2016 Ironman World Championships; and Jim Walmsley, a U.S.-born ultrarunner who set several records in 2016, including the JFK 50-miler and the double-crossing of the Grand Canyon, also known as the Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim FKT. The team will be managed by Mike McManus, Hoka's global sports marketing manager. The brand has also announced the signing of nine American trail runners to its domestic team of athletes including Chris Vargo, Alicia Vargo (formerly Shay), Tim Tollefson, Megan Roche, David Roche, Cole Watson, Jared Hazen, Patrick Reagan and Sabrina Little.
