Thirteen winter sports resorts in Austria, France, the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Italy and Japan are celebrating “A Day for Jake” by offering free lift tickets to snowboarders who pre-register through the website www.adayforjake.com. Those snowboarders who are not near one of the participating resorts are also encouraged to take the day off and go snowboarding. “A Day for Jake” armbands and stickers are available at local Burton stores and via the website. Impressions and experiences from “A Day for Jake” should be shared via the hashtag #RideOnJake on social media.
The day will also bring together the entire snowboard industry with all brands, pro riders, reps, shop owners and employees invited to snowboard together at no cost in celebration of Jake. In honor of “A Day for Jake,” Burton offices and owned stores will be closed on Mar 13. A selection of participating resorts will offer special Learn To Ride packages for friends and families of the snowboarding community or anyone who wants to learn to snowboard on this day.
