Norrøna has sealed a sponsoring agreement with Even Sigstad, one of Norway's best freestyle skiers, and a moviemaker as well. He will be the testimonial for the Narvik line marketed by the Norwegian brand of outdoor and freeride apparel. Starting with its autumn/winter 2013-14 collection, Norrøna wants to put its focus not only on the freeride category, but also on the freestyle & park segment. Sigstad already had a contract with the brand seven years ago. Meanwhile, Jørgen Jørgensen, chief executive of Norrøna, was recently awarded a prize as the Norwegian “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2012 in the trade segment. The prize was awarded by Ernst & Young to Jørgensen for an impressive ability and unique competence for developing innovative products, establishing distribution channels and being one of the first companies in Europe to use Gore-Tex materials. The 39-year-old manager has headed the company since 2005. Norrøna's sales jumped by roughly 44 percent to 235 million Norwegian kroner (€32.1m-$41.5m) last year.
