U.S. backpack specialist Osprey has released an open letter to the outdoor community and its retail partners to signal hope on the horizon after the tough year of 2020. With the message explore AGAIN™, the letter highlights the importance of the outdoors to physical and mental well-being. Together with Osprey ambassadors, elite explorer Aldo Kane and former Olympian Victoria Pendleton, Osprey calls for people to seek adventure, overcome adversity and push into the unknown – again and again. The AGAIN campaign officially launches on March 5.
The AGAIN campaign also heralds the highly anticipated launch of the 5th generation Talon and Tempest backpack series. The evolution of the two backpacks spans ten years and five iconic versions. The Talon and Tempest have received a complete, sustainable redesign in keeping with Osprey’s promise to become the most sustainable outdoor hardware brand in the world. Fabric improvements include one of the first commercial uses of Bluesign and GRS-certified, high-strength Robic nylon. The injection-molded frame panel eliminates rounding of the back panel, and the molding process itself reduces plastic waste to nearly zero. The backpack series is designed to be the perfect all-rounder, seamlessly taking you from walking and hiking to cycling and running.
Osprey also announced the premiere of Denizens of the Steep: Finding Balance in the Backcountry on osprey.com. The film presented by Orijin Media and co-sponsored by Fat Tire, the Teton Conservation District, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, and the Iowa and Wyoming chapters of the Wildsheep Foundations, looks at the urgent conservation challenge facing the Teton bighorn sheep herd and how winter recreationists can be part of the solution.
