Runners took part in the Inov-8 Descent Race on Austria's Hanekamm mountain earlier this month. The annual event, organized by a local outdoor retailer, Georg Uberall, took place in the rain and turned Kitzbuehel's Steif slope into mud. The hill has an 80 percent gradient and is considered one of the most challenging slopes during the professional skiing season. Runners were kitted out for free with Inov-8's graphene-enhanced shoes for tighter grip in the slippery conditions. Markus Wiltschigg wove down the 350-meter course marked by flags to win the €300 ($330) cash prize. The fastest of his two runs came in at 56.87 seconds with Carina Polzer claiming the same cash prize in the women's category.
