Suunto’s user data confirms that the community of runners and cyclists has increased significantly in recent months during the Corona pandemic – another reason to escape the crowded parks and common routes and leave familiar paths behind. Since many cities are full of artworks by well-known artists that are easily missed, the Finnish sports watch manufacturer has launched the Street Art Run project. The runs are intended to establish a format in major cities around the world that combines culture and sport; a visit to a museum that is free of charge and usually right around the corner.
With the help of runners and artists from the individual cities, GPX routes are created for free downloading that guarantee an individual, urban adventure. For Munich in Germany, for example, two routes of different lengths (17K and 10K) have been put together, which can be run or cycled as a single trip or in several stages. At least 21 street-art spots are located along the route. Another tour of 23 kilometers and with 147 street-art spots is already online for Turin in Italy, with more cities to follow on Suunto’s website.
