After taking over the distribution for Deuter in China, the Schwan-Stabilo Group has set up a subsidiary for its Ortovox brand in France, called Schwan Stabilo Outdoor. As of Sept. 1, Alizés Montagne is no longer Ortovox' distributor in the country. Deuter will continue to work in the French market through Loisiralp, which has represented the brand for over 20 years. Schwan Stabilo will seek to integrate Maier Sports into the new French operation, run by Lydie Antoine, in the longer term. Marc Bechet, who handled the Deuter brand at Alizés, will continue as its French sales director.
