Deuter, Katadyn and Leki were among the latest brands that asked Moosejaw to take their products out of its new American online shop hosted by Walmart.com. They apparently cite strong pressure from specialty retailers to withdraw their support for the new site because American consumers associate Walmart with discounting. Other big outdoor brands have remained loyal to the new initiative, apparently because it could help open up a more diverse and inclusive audience of beginner outdoor enthusiasts.
