Equip Outdoor Technologies, owner of the outdoor brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, supports the brick-and-mortar trade in view of the massive consequences of the Covid-19 crisis with a sales campaign on their own websites. With immediate effect, 25 percent of the value of a purchase made via the Rab website will go to a specialist retailer affected by a closure and selected by the shopper. For Lowe Alpine, this service will be available from April 16. The merchandise will be delivered directly from Equip to the customer, who will also receive a 5 percent discount on their purchase.
The campaign is part of the Risk Management Action Plan recently presented by Equip. In this plan, Equip announced, among other things, that it would no longer deliver any merchandise to retailers in the current spring/summer season unless the retailer expressly requested it. In addition, dealers can return up to 50 percent of their spring/summer 2020 orders and receive a credit note. This is intended to support the order and inventory management of the retail partners.
For spring/summer 2021, Equip will launch a significantly smaller number of new products than planned and the seasonal order deadlines will be extended. The reduced number will extend the lifecycle of the existing collection to avoid phase-out measures and maintain the corresponding margins. Both Rab and Lowe Alpine will, however, continue with a high level of R&D to ensure that they can emerge from this crisis with a sustainable foundation.
