The agency of Klaus-Peter Klaus, which was in charge of the German market for Silkbody, the marketer of functional apparel based on natural silk, has dropped the distribution of this brand from New Zealand. Klaus argued that the cost for energy and transportation has pushed the price of its products up by 30 percent over the past few years. Since it has become impossible to pass on the skyrocketing increases fully to the retail customers, the agency saw no alternative to giving up the distribution in the country.
