With Improve Business Scandinavia being the Scandinavian representative for Treksta since 2014, the South Korean footwear company earlier this year engaged Improve Business Europe AB as European distributor for all countries except Portugal, France and Spain. The company has already signed agents for its hunting category and is now looking for up to 50 new agents to service the outdoor, sports, casual and children’s footwear stores across Europe. Jesper Krøyer, who works in Improve Business Europe’s Danish office, is responsible for building the European network. The new European brand representatives will be served from a new warehouse in Landvetter, Sweden.
Despite the downturn all over Europe due to Covid-19, people are spending more time on outdoor activities. “The demand for footwear with Treksta’s technical features […] has increased, which can easily be seen in our results: 45 percent increase in turnover in 2020 and our presell for SS21 has increased over 140 percent,” said Mats Bengtsson, owner and chief executive of Improve Business Europe. Improve Business Scandinavia had sales of close to SEK 42 million (~€4.1 million) in 2019, and sales for 2021 have increased significantly.
Treksta wants to reach even more customers in the shoe trade, and is in negotiations at the moment. “Treksta has a very functional collection that we call the hybrid collection. Lots of our styles are between sports and casual footwear shops,” Bengtsson told The Outdoor Industry Compass.
